In the Cool of the Jungle

An A E London Original

He rests in the cool of a jungle stream, chin on paw, too peaceful to get up and do anything about me. But it's there in the eyes, the ability to change mode in an instant if need be.  Both of us wonder just what is next? It pays to be ready.

I have originally worked this in charcoal and then glazed with oil paint.  This is from a loose sketch, trying colors on to see if they work in harmony with my mood and this beautiful animal.

Dimensions: 24" x 48" Oil on canvas. $3425

As most people, I'm fascinated with tigers. My veterinarian friends tell me that if you remove the skin from a tiger and from a lion, the animal remaining underneath is almost identical. Lions have slightly larger lung capacity, for roaring louder.
