TYGER TYGER

An A E London Original

The poet Blake could never have known the perils his "Tyger" would be facing in the future. Its "fearful symmetry" will not be enough to protect it as tigers are routinely slaughtered for their parts in Asia.

I added the gold leaf Chinese symbols here, in the shadows.  Translated, they mean, "murdered" .   The filthy lucre of animal parts trade decided me on using gold to send a message to anyone who can read this.

Dimensions: 48" x 48" On canvas, $ 4926.

Thanks to my friends at the Lincoln zoo in Chicago, I can get up close and personal with tigers- one animal I have never seen in the wild!
