KALAHARI ROAR

An A E London Original

Perhaps the oldest tribe still living  today, the Khoi- San of the Kalahari live closely with their wildlife.  Some of the oldest art in the world is attributed to them- something I am in  awe of.  A spiritual kinship with animals factors heavily in their culture- here I am portraying one of the family I’ve grown close to-  a young woman capable of adding her roar to the night, sister to the lions I have also had the pleasure  to draw.

This piece is part of a series , of San and their animal connection.  I've used charcoal, graphite and pastel on textured canvas- note the lioness roaring over the young woman's head.

Dimensions: 48" x 48" Original only on canvas $ 4726.
