Each year Jim and I load up our Sprinter and head across America to visit our friends along the way and deliver artwork to my galleries. Of course, the most fun part for me is not only seeing my friends, but also getting to return America's wilderness to observe wildlife, sketch, and regain my "wildlife mojo!"]]
We got to visit our friends Dub and Sharon ( who is an excellent artist) near Chappel Hill , Texas. and Clark and Mary Mcnaught, old friends from New Braunfles who have travelled to Africa with us twice.
From there we drove up to Salida, Colorado to stay with our friend Paul Silver. Paul lives in a beautiful valley where he uses found objects and driftwood to make beautiful wildlife life art pieces.
We spent a week with our friends Ged and Theresa Caddick , who have a beautiful log cabin in the wilderness outside of Crested Butte, Colorado. While we were there we spent time hiking, cooking, watching moose come down to the properties pond, and even doing the Crested Butte Artshow.
Although the Rockies are really beautiful in the summer, it was hot even there, and after dropping off a piece near Steamboat Springs, we headed up north to Tetonia ,Idaho to stay with our old friends Don and Leslie Roth. We rent a beautiful little house from them overlooking hay fields, mountains and in the distance, of the Teton mountains.
