Our ART FOR ANIMALS Project

We are very excited about our newest project- "ART FOR ANIMALS".  Close behind my love of animals, is my passion for teaching children. In our minds, the key to someday halting animal poaching and protecting the most endangered species in Africa, will be to educate the children of Africa of the importance of their wildlife.

Combining those elements into one program, I hope ART FOR ANIMALS will connect creativity with conservation". On our annual trips to Africa, we will bring drawing kits and paper to remote schools in Botswana and Zimbabwe.

We designed a poster to demonstrate to students how to draw three important threatened species. Elephants, Rhinos, and Cheetahs. Utilizing our drawing tools, this instructional poster and lesson plans developed to help local teachers,I hope to link art lessons with conservation messages. The " theme"  behind the art lessons will be " OUR WILDLIFE-OUR HERITAGE-OUR FUTURE". We are also donating some of my most striking artworks to the schools for inspiration. Since some of the schools are in very remote, primitive areas, we are mounting the art on Vinyl so that they can even be used in "outdoor classrooms". I am really enthusiastic about this program and even hope to involve the friends we bring to africa with teaching the kids.

We will introduce this program on this year's African Safari, so tune in to this journal later to see photographs of our 1st classes........
